Imagine how David Beckham reacted when he found out he could no longer compete in soccer due to an injury.

Now imagine how his wife of 15 years, Victoria Beckham, responded when he delivered the sad news.

“She just burst out unconditionally with emotion and crying, when someone just kind of can’t get their breath. She literally handed the phone to one of the boys and the boys were so upset,” the 39-year-old revealed in unseen footage from his documentary, ‘David Beckham Into the Unknown.’

David, who has four kids — daughter Harper, 3, and sons Brooklyn, 15, Romeo, 12 and Cruz, 9 — with the Spice Girls alum, 40, admitted he saw a different side of her at that very moment.

“That was one of the points when I knew I had a wife that really understood me and really understood why I was doing it,” said the athlete, who retired from professional soccer last year. “She knew how much playing in a fourth World Cup meant to me.”
