Kendall & Kylie Jenner's Sci-Fi Novel
In their quest to expand their brand (and prove they can read?), Kendall and Kylie Jenner released a sci-fi novel earlier this summer entitled Rebels: City of Indra. But just months after the release date, the young adult novel sold (drumroll)...13,000 copies, according to Radar.
Along with dismal sales comes negative reviews on Amazon. On angry customer wrote:
"Don't bother wasting your time or money on this piece of trash. The trees that died to make the paper for this book would have been better off as toilet paper."
The girls insisted they were very hands-on in the writing process, but had to bite their tongues after an interview with their ghostwriter, Maya Sloan went public. According to the LA Times, the Jenner sisters merely provided a "broad two-page outline" and then hired a ghostwriter to execute their vision.
On Good Morning America, the sisters were asked to elaborate on the grueling writing process that went into creating their novel.
"We've been working on it for a while. It was awesome just seeing it grow, and … it was really cool," Kylie responded.
Perhaps they should stick to reality TV.
