Gwyneth Paltrow may be having second thoughts about ending her marriage with estranged husbandChris Martin.

In a revealing interview, the actress gets real about remaining friends with her ex, the pain she has felt during this year and why she believes it may have been better if they stayed married.

"Of course, there are times when I think it would have been better if we had stayed married, which is always what your children want," the ‘Mortdecai’ star told the January 2015 issue of . "But we have been able to solidify this friendship, so that we're really close."

The 42-year-old actress announced her split from Martin in March of this year after ten years of marriage and two kids: Apple, 10, and Moses, 8.

"It's painful, it's difficult, it might be easier to say, 'I never want to see you again,' but what good does that do anyone?" Gwyneth added. "We've made a lot of mistakes, and we've had good days and bad days, but I have to say, I'm proud of us for working through so much stuff together – and not blaming and shaming."

Soon after their split was announced, the 37-year-old singer began dating Jennifer Lawrence, 24, and fueled media outlets with speculation that Chris just wanted a younger and more adventurous girl in his life.

Gwyneth also said she does not know what she would have done if she had never met Chris, especially after her father’s death (her dad was famous producer-director Bruce Paltrow) in 2002.
