Gwyneth Paltrow Doesn't Even Know How to Feud Properly
For the past couple of months or so, we've all been so lucky to witness one of the more amusing celebrity feuds of our time: Gwyneth Paltrow vs. Martha Stewart. It's just been such a pleasure to see these two well-to-do ladies making little swipes at each other, or, to be more accurate, to see Martha make little swipes at Gwyneth while Gwyneth takes all that shade as flattery. It's been nice, and the niceness just won't stop coming.
This round centers around a recipe that Gwyneth published over on her website, GOOP, for a nice little cake. OK, OK, but do you know what it's called? Jailbird cake. Gwyneth posted a recipe for a jailbird cake, and it's ever so catty because Martha Stewart was in jail herself. Insult accomplished!
Oh, and just in case you're thinking something like "wow, that's super lame," then one, you're correct, and two, the lameness doesn't stop here, because a source close to Gwyneth made a statement about the recipe, and this is the only reason why we'd ever think this was a Martha Stewart slam:
"The folks at goop know how to have some fun, too. If Martha served up the appetizer, the Jailbird Cake is just desserts."
Well, at least little Gwynnie tried, right? Sure, it's the weakest slam of all time, and it's sad that she's feuding with Martha in the first place, but she did try. And that's what matters.
