Joanna Krupa isn't ready to have children any time soon -- but that doesn't mean she's not preparing for the future.
The 35-year-old 'Real Housewives of Miami' star has made the decision to freeze her eggs after one of her best friends struggled to get pregnant recently.
"I don't want to regret [not doing it] two, three years down the line, when I'm trying to have kids, in case for some reason I'm infertile," she said. "I would never forgive myself."
Joanna's husband of a year-and-a-half, Romain Zago, is fully on board with her freezing her eggs -- even if the necessary hormone injections gives her "pregnancy brain."
"I already went to the gym today with my Uggs on. I didn't bring my gym shoes," she said. "It's only been two days of hormone injections, so I can only imagine a week from now what's going to happen! I'm a little nervous about if I'm going to be crazy, [or] if I'm going to drive my husband nuts."
This process can also potentially affect the model's career.
"I'm nervous about the water retention, because I know it can be two, five, even 11 lbs. of water retention. I had to put to my work on the side, because obviously for the next two weeks I'm not planning on doing anything," she admitted.
Still, it's better to be safe than sorry -- and now Joana and Romain can take the next step in their relationship once they feel they are ready.
"We're not ready to have kids at this moment, and I think it's just safe to have a little security blanket," she said.
